Starting March 3rd, the main line will be closed to allow for several major range improvements. Work involved in this phase of improvements will include range regrading to facilitate better water drainage and extending/rebuilding berms to aid future maintenance and increase safety. We plan to keep this page regularly updated with photos and descriptions of the progress being made from start to finish.
The expected time of completion is approximately four weeks.

Feats of superhuman strength or determination of a heckuva hard working crew? The target bases have all been dug out and relocated to the bench area.
Moving them was the first step in the process of regrading the range to improve drainage. It also makes it a lot easier to get equipment and machinery in and out for rebuilding the pistol berm.

“Moving dirt” and “gripping action shots” are a hard combination to pull off without either an avalanche or some wrestling going on, so we grabbed a few quick shots of the kind of heavy equipment needed to make all this happen in a reasonable amount of time.

The weather has been in our favor the past few days, and progress has been great. Sunny days means dry ground. Dry ground means 20-ton trucks can load up and travel faster. Also, a lot of the work is killing two birds with one stone, as we are carving out new bays from mountains of dirt and using what’s extracted to build and reinforce nearby berms.

If you like excavation and heavy machinery, you’ve got a couple more days of fun photos. If you’re more into the details, we’ve got good news for you – look forward to our update at the end of the week. 😉

It seems I get a demerit here for this one. I jumped the gun on new info and the reality is we still have plenty more to move and do before committing to any particular projects. So, for that I apologize and I hope you will accept my gift of a large vehicles and dirt.

MAIN LINE NOW OPEN, UPDATE ON REMAINING WORK
The bulk of the work has been completed and the main line is now open again. Welcome back!
We are currently preparing to de-lead the bays in the back, starting with the cowboy bays and working our way to the 600-yard bench rest. This should take 5-7 days to complete and we begin work tomorrow. The 600-yard range is tentatively open. Shooters should call first before coming out to be sure that it is available. We’d hate to see someone make the trip and it isn’t open for them. Please, please call first. (941) 322-0055
