About the role
The Range Manager oversees the daily operation, safety, maintenance, and administration of all firearm ranges at MGAC. This is the primary point of contact on the ranges for members, guests, instructors, and competitive shooters, and the person responsible for the culture of safety and professionalism across 350+ acres of shooting facilities.
What you'll do
- Manage daily operations across all firearm ranges, including opening, closing, and securing procedures.
- Supervise, schedule, train, and develop paid Range Safety Officers and volunteers.
- Maintain a proactive safety program: inspections, incident investigation, and corrective action.
- Coordinate range schedules, closures, and maintenance around matches, classes, and club events.
- Inspect range infrastructure and recommend maintenance and capital improvements.
- Support match directors and instructors, and assist with new member orientations.
- Keep operational logs, inspection records, and incident documentation current.
Qualifications
- Range Safety Officer Certification (Chief RSO preferred).
- First Aid, CPR, and AED Certifications (preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of firearms range operations, law enforcement, military, or related experience.
- Thorough knowledge of firearm safety practices and range operations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to enforce rules fairly, professionally, and consistently.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and special events as required.
