Range Manager

About the role

The Range Manager oversees the daily operation, safety, maintenance, and administration of all firearm ranges at MGAC. This is the primary point of contact on the ranges for members, guests, instructors, and competitive shooters, and the person responsible for the culture of safety and professionalism across 350+ acres of shooting facilities.

What you'll do

• Manage daily operations across all firearm ranges, including opening, closing, and securing procedures.
• Supervise, schedule, train, and develop paid Range Safety Officers and volunteers.
• Maintain a proactive safety program: inspections, incident investigation, and corrective action.
• Coordinate range schedules, closures, and maintenance around matches, classes, and club events.
• Inspect range infrastructure and recommend maintenance and capital improvements.
• Support match directors and instructors, and assist with new member orientations.
• Keep operational logs, inspection records, and incident documentation current.

What we're looking for

• Chief Range Safety Officer certification.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
• Five or more years in firearms range operations, law enforcement, military, or a related field.
• Proven leadership: someone who can enforce rules fairly, consistently, and without drama.
• Availability for weekend and some evening work supporting club events.
• Able to work outdoors in varied weather, walk uneven terrain, and lift up to 50 pounds.
