Your first visit

Five steps from the gate to the firing line

Never been to an outdoor range, or never been to ours? This is exactly how the day goes. Staff and Range Safety Officers are on the line all day — if anything is unclear, ask.

Find the banner

Exit 220 (SR-64) off I-75, then about 19.5 miles east on SR-64. Look for our banner at the corner of Logue Road and SR-64 and follow Logue Road in.

Check in at the clubhouse

Every member and guest checks in first. Sign the waiver at the kiosk (good for one year), pay your daily fee and pick up your wristband. Leave firearms cased in your vehicle — no firearms inside the clubhouse.

Gear up

Eye and ear protection, a chamber flag for each gun, and plastic clamps for your target. Forgot something? The clubhouse sells all of it, plus ammo in common calibers and paper targets.

Pick a bench

Choose your distance on the covered main line — 5 to 25 yards on the pistol side, 50 to 300 yards on the rifle side, with steel gongs at 300 and 1,000. Uncase only at the bench, only when the line is hot.

Follow the RSO

Range Safety Officers call the line hot and cold. Set or change targets only during a cold line, and remember the last cold call of the day is around 3:30 PM. Then shoot — and stop by the office on your way out with any questions about membership.

Open Thursday through Sunday, every week of the year

The clubhouse opens at 8:00 AM for check-in, the main line goes hot at 8:30, and the last shooting session ends at 4:00 PM. The office stays open until 4:30. We close on major holidays, and lightning within ten miles closes the ranges until the sky has been clear for 15 minutes — summer afternoons especially.

Match day? The main firing line stays open to members and the public every Thursday through Sunday, even during matches and special events — competitions run on separate ranges. Check the club calendar if you're planning on the 600-yard range, which is reserved on match days.

Daily range fees

One gate fee covers the main line all day

Pay once at the clubhouse and shoot the covered main line — pistol and rifle out to 300 yards plus the .22 rimfire steel gallery — until the line goes cold at 4:00. Members pay $20 less at the gate every single visit.

Free daily fee: active-duty military, active-duty Manatee County law enforcement, and junior members shooting with their primary member. Ladies shoot free the first and last Thursday of every month (daily fee only — add-ons below still apply).

What to bring

Pack light — we stock the rest

Eighty-two covered benches on a concrete pad mean you're out of the sun and the rain. Bring your firearms cased, your ammo, and the safety basics. Anything on the “bring” list that you don't have, the clubhouse sells at a fair price and it's yours to keep. We don't rent firearms, and no reactive targets or Tannerite are permitted anywhere on the property.

Bring this

Your firearms, cased. Uncase at the bench only, during a hot line. Loaner cases are available if you forgot one.
Eye and ear protection. Required on every firing line.
A chamber flag (open-bolt indicator) for every gun you uncase.
Plastic clamps to fasten your target backer to the wooden 1×2 furring strips at each bench. No metal clamps.
Closed-toe shoes and a crew-neck shirt. Hot brass is real — no sandals, open-top boots or low-cut tops on the line.
Paper targets if you'd like more than the one included. Shoot-N-C style is fine; we tape or adhere to coroplast backers.

Leave this at home

Tracer, incendiary or explosive ammo. Never, on any range.
Steel-core / armor-piercing on steel. Green-tip M855, black-tip .308 and .50 are paper-only.
Staples, metal clamps and reactive targets. Paper on coroplast only; Tannerite is prohibited.
Open carry. Not permitted unless you're a certified LEO with badge displayed or MGAC staff.
Uncased firearms in the clubhouse. Ever. Leave them in the vehicle until you're at the bench.
Shot larger than 7½ on 5-Stand (7½, 8 or 9 only).

In the clubhouse: eye and ear protection, chamber flags, target clamps, paper targets, clays, shotgun target loads, and ammo in .223/5.56, .308, 7.62×39, .22 LR, 9mm, .45 ACP, .40 S&W and .380 — plus water, soft drinks, snacks, club shirts and hats. Air-conditioned, with restrooms.

Twenty minutes east of I-75

Take I-75 to Exit 220, State Road 64 (Bradenton / Zolfo Springs).
Head east on SR-64 for approximately 19.5 miles, through Lakewood Ranch and past Myakka City.
Watch for the MGAC banner at Logue Road and turn onto Logue Road. Follow it to the clubhouse and park.

Membership pays for itself in about a dozen trips

Every member saves $20 at the gate. Shoot roughly once a month and the annual renewal is covered — and you get guest passes, discounts on merchandise and ammo, priority registration for training and events, and a vote in how the club is run.
